Hermes Fulfilment
That's us!
HERMES FULFILMENT
Hermes Fulfilment GmbH is a company of the internationally active Hermes Logistik Gruppe, which is part of the Otto Group. With around 6,000 employees, we move over 250 million goods every year: from smartphones to washing machines, from sneakers to evening dresses.
We are the specialists for warehouse logistics. Our logistics centers are among the most modern in Europe. They use innovative technologies that make work much faster, easier and safer. This means that Otto Group retail companies such as bonprix and ABOUT YOU can always rely on us.
As one of the leading companies in the logistics sector and part of the international Otto Group, we at Hermes Fulfilment are aware of our responsibility. That is why we consider the social and environmental impact of all our decisions. We act sustainably, critically scrutinize every step of our supply chain and are consciously committed to protecting people and nature.
At the same time, we create a working environment in which all employees feel comfortable and are supported. Our mission statement is characterized by respectful cooperation. We foster a corporate culture in which diversity and inclusion are lived values and offer many opportunities for further development.
EVERYTHING POSSIBLE
BE AN EVERYTHING POSSIBLE MAKER
Whether in the warehouse, in the workshop or in the office - at Hermes Fulfilment, we implement even the most demanding orders, projects and requests from our customers - with the highest standards for ourselves. To be successful, we need employees who pull together and turn our claim “The will to fulfill.” into action.
With our new employer branding campaign, we are not only giving you, our employees, a name, but also a stage: you are our all EVERYTHING-POSSIBLE MAKERS. You are the ones who make everything possible!
We have launched our campaign with a variety of motifs showing different people - people who represent the spirit of our employees with their skills and characteristics.
To make this idea of EVERYTHING POSSIBLE MAKER more tangible and, above all, easier to experience, take a look at our HF and feel the spirit behind our campaign. Anyone and everyone can be an EVERYTHING POSSIBLE MAKER!
Hermes Fulfilment's seven locations are spread throughout Germany. In addition to our headquarters in Hamburg, we have locations in Haldensleben and Haldensleben Südhafen (Saxony-Anhalt), Ansbach (Bavaria), Langenselbold (Hesse), Löhne (North Rhine-Westphalia) and Ohrdruf (Thuringia).
We also have international locations in the Czech Republic, Poland and Switzerland.
Available from us: the climate-friendly Germany ticket
Great news - Hermes Fulfilment offers a subsidy for the Germany-wide Deutschlandticket offer!
With this campaign, we want to support climate-friendly mobility and at the same time do something good for our employees and expand travel options within Germany.
The best thing about it: it's great for both the environment and society!
How much does the ticket cost?
The Deutschlandticket normally costs 49 euros. We are committed to environmentally friendly mobility - which is why we also subsidize the Deutschlandticket, even well above the required minimum.
This means that the ticket only costs our employees 30 euros per month and our trainees (trainee ticket incl. the option to travel in the hvv area) only 28 euros per month!
And this is how you get your Deutschlandticket:
Employees of Hermes Fulfilment and Hermes Fulfilment Tech Solutions, as well as transitional employees* of the HABs and HF Ansbach, have been able to obtain the Deutschlandticket via the HVV since June 1.
Our mission statement "WE" describes how we organize cooperation and leadership. It sets out our values and principles with which we want to steer successfully into the future.
We can all be guided by them, challenge ourselves and make our contribution.

The works council is the statutory body for representing the interests of employees and for safeguarding co-determination vis-à-vis the employer in the company. The tasks and rights of the works council relate primarily to the areas of information, consultation, participation and co-determination, which we present to you in more detail. From this page, you can also access the General Works Council (GBR) page, the pages of our site works councils and an overview of our committees.
Information
The works council must be informed comprehensively and in good time about overall personnel planning, technical and organizational changes and individual personnel measures (e.g. recruitment, regrouping, transfer, dismissal). In addition, it has a general right to information in accordance with Section 80 (2) BetrVG, according to which it can obtain all information it requires for its work as a works council. However, it is also subject to the duty of confidentiality in accordance with § 79 of the Works Constitution Act!
Consultation
The employer must not only inform the works council, but also consult with it - such as when constructing technical facilities, changing work processes, promoting vocational training, etc. Wherever the employer has information obligations, the works council has consultation rights.
Participation
The works council can refuse its consent to the regrouping, hiring, classification or transfer of employees, whereby it only has a certain catalog of reasons for refusal at its disposal. An objection by the works council can only be overcome by a decision of the labor court; however, unilateral provisional measures by the employer are permitted until the court has reached a decision.

Diversity & inclusion
Sustainability
Diversity & inclusion
We focus on diversity and inclusion
The world of Hermes Fulfilment is colorful and diverse. For us, diversity and inclusion are fundamental to how people work together at our various locations. That is why we are committed to a tolerant, open corporate culture and an environment in which everyone is valued and respected.
As part of the globally active Otto Group, diversity and inclusion are indispensable parts of modern society for Hermes Fulfilment and are naturally also part of the foundation of our own corporate culture. The Otto Group is a member of the Diversity Charter and is committed to respectful and encouraging cooperation. This also includes the employment of people with mental and/or physical disabilities, which is a matter of course at Hermes Fulfilment. The central interface for the internal promotion of diversity within the company is Group-wide diversity management.
The Otto Group Diversity Community & the Diversity Charter
The Otto Group Diversity Community was founded to give even more weight to the topics of diversity and inclusion across the Group and to think broadly about diversity in all its aspects. Its aim is to engage intensively with the Diversity Charter in order to actively promote topics relating to the individual dimensions of diversity and to network committed colleagues more closely across the Group. Our aim is to anchor diversity at Hermes Fulfilment across the board by means of the Diversity Charter, to make existing measures visible and to strengthen diversity across the Group.
The Diversity Charter contains the following aspects and our goals:
Age Our goal: We want to utilize the different perspectives and levels of experience of our employees and learn from and with each other at Hermes Fulfilment regardless of age.
Gender & gender identity Our goal: At Hermes Fulfilment, women should not feel disadvantaged in their career development and the question of family or career should not arise - it should rather be: family and career.
Sexual orientation & identity Our goal: At Hermes Fulfilment, open and respectful interaction with one another is a matter of course - this also applies when it comes to sexual identity and private relationships.
Religion & world view Our goal: Religion and ideology are individual and often a sensitive topic - Hermes Fulfilment is characterized by tolerance and openness towards different views.
Disability Our goal: Hermes Fulfilment has a culture in which an open approach to disability is the order of the day.
Ethnic origin & nationality Our goal: We live internationality and a culture in which ethnic origin does not entail any disadvantages.
Sustainability
We live sustainability
The topic of sustainability is firmly anchored in Hermes Fulfilment's DNA and day-to-day business. We face up to our responsibility to protect people and nature with many future-oriented concepts, measures and initiatives. Sustainable energy management is just as important to us as a holistic commitment to the environment. Sustainability is not a trend, but an attitude: we live it every day at Hermes Fulfilment. For us, acting sustainably is both an obligation and a motivation. As a company in the logistics sector, we take long-term responsibility and, with our services, have the leverage to make an active contribution to a more sustainable world. We take responsibility: with a view to people and the environment, we critically scrutinize every step of our supply chain and implement it sustainably with our suppliers and partners. Together, we not only ensure our due diligence obligations, but also develop a supply chain management system that takes long-term ecological, social and economic aspects into account.
Energy management At Hermes Fulfilment GmbH, we decided to introduce an energy management system in accordance with ISO 50001. The first step was to set up a standardized monitoring system for all company locations, which measures and stores the consumption of electricity, gas, compressed air, district heating, etc. In order to permanently reduce energy costs, systems and processes must also be established that are required to improve energy-related performance, including energy efficiency, energy use and energy consumption. The primary goal is to continuously reduce energy consumption and the associated energy costs as well as minimize greenhouse gas emissions and other environmental impacts. Our energy team To support the energy management officer in the introduction, implementation and maintenance of the company's own energy management system in accordance with the requirements of DIN EN ISO 50001, an energy management team is appointed with energy officers and energy coordinators.
Environmental management The protection of nature and the environment is particularly important to us at Hermes Fulfilment. As a company, we are equally aware of our responsibility for sustainable development and are increasingly investing in appropriate measures. For us, this means more than just separating waste and saving copy paper. Our holistic environmental management takes into account energy and material consumption, emissions, waste and wastewater as well as production processes and the behavior of employees, suppliers and partners. Instead of promoting individual measures in isolation, we bundle all environmental protection activities.
Our environmental team As the top management of Hermes Fulfilment, the Management Board controls the implementation of the environmental policy. Managers at all reporting levels and specialists are responsible for compliance in their areas of responsibility. At the Haldensleben site (including the southern port operation), our environmental team, headed by Stefan Niessen, takes up ideas and suggestions for continuous improvement, prioritizes tasks and projects in line with the sustainable orientation of the site, draws up environmental programs and - after consultation with the management - is responsible for their implementation.
Otto Group publishes sustainability magazine "Now" Reports, interviews and portraits show how sustainable and value-oriented economic efficiency can also succeed in the future. The magazine was produced in cooperation with the "Geo" editorial team. Fairness and responsibility are becoming increasingly important in terms of corporate activity and are increasingly becoming the focus of public attention. Reason enough for the Otto Group to present the long-standing commitment to sustainability of the family business and its shareholder Dr. Michael Otto in a compact, exciting way and with the incorruptible eye of a neutral observer. In cooperation with the renowned Hamburg publishing house Gruner + Jahr, the magazine "Now" was created, which impressively shows how sustainable and value-oriented profitability can also succeed in the future.
The Otto Group's Pensions department provides Group companies and their employees with a wealth of expertise in the complex area of company pension schemes.
Your employer offers you the opportunity to top up your pension by converting your salary and subsidizes the conversion with up to 10% of the contributions paid in (employer subsidy). Depending on the company in the Hermes Fulfilment Group, there may be other pension options. Your local HR department will be happy to tell you which ones.
The electronic certificate of incapacity for work will be sent directly from the doctor to the health insurance companies and employers will in future be able to call up the sickness absence data of their sick employees digitally from the health insurance companies.
What does this mean for you?
The electronic certificate of incapacity for work does not release you from the obligation to notify your employer.
1. obligation to report
Please report to your direct or next highest contactable manager immediately, at the latest in good time before starting work, to inform them of the expected duration of your incapacity to work/the duration of your illness. If you are not in a position to do this yourself, notification by a third party is also permitted.
2. You have the following options to fulfill your obligation to provide evidence:
In principle, your incapacity to work is recorded via ATOSS
Notification of the period of incapacity for work, stating your personnel number, surname, first name and duration of absence by e-mail to the following address: service-center-hf(at)hermes-ws.com
If necessary, submit written proof (e.g. from your doctor) of the duration of your incapacity to work to your HR department.
Exception: In the case of privately insured employees, certificates of incapacity for work from abroad, the previous procedure and the employee's obligation to report and provide evidence will remain in place after January 1, 2023.
If you have any questions about the process, please contact the HR Service Center - you will find the contact details on your payslip.
If a doctor's visit is not required, the process remains the same as in the past. Maintenance is carried out in ATOSS with "Employee sick without proof" with the abbreviation "KO" (max. 3 days in a row).
Illness of the child: Child sick is reported to the manager in the same way as your own sickness and then maintained by you in ATOSS as a corresponding absence (proof is not required here). In addition, information must be sent to the service-center-hf(at)hermes-ws.com so that a certificate can be sent to the health insurance company.
